Individualized Mentorship for Your College Journey
Applications for this program are now closed.
Our goal is to foster a long-term, meaningful relationship between mentees and Harvard mentors. Mentor/mentee pairs will meet once a week throughout fall semester.
While mentorship sessions are tailored to your needs, we offer a college guide (found here) you are welcome to follow!
-
Common Application: College researching & deadline tracking, activities & awards, resume writing
-
Essay Help: Brainstorming, drafting, and polishing, narrative writing, avoiding cliches
-
General Strategy: Discuss aspirations, interests, and goals, explore how COVID-19 impacts admissions
-
Affording College: Navigating application fees & tuition, financial aid & scholarships
The number of students we can accept depends on the size of our volunteer base. Applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. All high schoolers are eligible for this program. We strongly encourage FGLI students to apply.
Our application page can be found here.
Webinar Advice from Experienced Students
No application required.
Interested in candid conversations with undergraduates who are veterans of the college application process? Throughout the semester, we will host information panels and Q&A sessions with student guest speakers. Our goal is to offer our personal experience and testimony to all high school students currently navigating the college application process.
Panels will supplement material from the Operation CORE guide, as well as additional topics. For example:
-
Getting over Writer's Block: Advice for Tackling Common App and Supplement Essays
-
Finding Silver Linings: Making the Most of Remote Opportunities during COVID-19
-
An Unfiltered, Unglamorous Peek into College Life Q&A
Additionally, mentors will be hosting regular drop-in office hours to guide you through any topics covered in our curriculum.
All are welcome to participate. Please sign up for our mailing list if you are interested!
